The old derelict one off Wellington Street, that was part of Leeds Central Station. [This building was a goods lift and one of the original parts for the station which opened in 1854. Leeds Central closed in 1967 to move closer into the city and became Leeds City Station – ED].
Describe Leeds in 3 Words?
Fun, diverse and proud.
Favourite free thing to do in Leeds?
Wander around the city centre early morning before the shops open. You notice so much you don’t usually.
Favourite people watching spot in Leeds?
All Bar One at the end of Greek Street. I used to work there and the sights you’d see after hours on a Friday and Saturday. My favourite being two pandas having a domestic.
Favourite picnic spot in Leeds?
In the city centre, Park Square.
Favourite Leeds fact?
The international pool was never allowed to host major events because when they built it they forgot to take in to account the thickness of the tiles and therefore the pool wasn’t quite the official 50m it needed to be. Not sure if this is entirely true, but still always makes me chuckle anyway.
Favourite Yorkshire word or saying?
The old classic ‘appen.
